8 Flats, Daisy Street, Cardiff

The project at Daisy Street in Canton, Cardiff involved the demolition of an existing retail unit on a very tight corner site and the construction of a new 3 storey development to accommodate 8 flats for Cadwyn Housing Association.

A rendered masonry construction solution was chosen over a timber frame option due to very limited space on site for craneage of materials and the masonry’s excellent acoustic properties. The site had little space for the site accommodation or the storage of construction materials and minimising disruption or nuisance to local residents and neighbours was one of the prime concerns, the site managers efforts in this regard were duly recognised by the Considerate Constructors Scheme during their audits on site.

“Jehu’s involvement from the outset was very professional and easy to work with …Jehu managed the scheme and the local residents very well and it was delivered on time, to a very high quality and within budget. All tenants are very happy with their new home.”
